On the last Saturday of every month from September to June we have a Men’s Breakfast. This is held at 8.00 am in the St. Thomas Church Hall, and generally lasts until around 9.30 am.
Excellent food is offered, prepared by volunteer men!
The cost has been a minimum of $5 to cover the costs of food.
The gathering starts with a short opportunity to share in our experiences of joy, sadness and success, and ask for prayers for the sick. This followed by a song or two, and then a brief prayer for the work of this group, this church and a blessing on the food.
After eating we usually have a guest speaker who comes to give us information, advice, history, experience on a whole range of topics.
In the past year we have had talks, for example, on Mission to Africa, Prison visiting, experience in banking from a recently retired bank manager, youth work in the Diocese, the Anglican Church in England, and we are always on the lookout for interesting speakers for our enjoyment and education.
If you would like to join us, and you will be most warmly welcomed, the only requirement is that you are male. Age is no obstacle. Our present age range is 14 to 93. It would help if you left a message at the church office, or through the Contact button on this site, so that we know how much to prepare. We usually have a group of around 25 men, so there is plenty of room for growth!
As this years program of speakers develops, it will be listed on our events page.
